Design of Shark Detection and Decoy Buoys

A coastal buoy concept connecting predator recognition with a proposed non-lethal decoy response.
Human–wildlife conflict near coasts often ends in lethal retaliation. This buoy proof-of-concept detects cold-blooded predators and runs a decoy system grounded in shark and crocodile behaviour.
Pattern recognition covers 14 shark species plus saline crocodiles at 92% collective accuracy — a non-lethal coastal warning and deterrence concept.
The recognition result is distinct from evidence that a decoy works. The project links machine perception with a response mechanism, while leaving animal-response testing and real coastal operating conditions as important questions beyond the reported classification result.
Detection is the start of the response.
The buoy concept begins with observations of marine predators near coastal activity.
