A DEVICE TO GENERATE ELECTRIC POWER USING PIEZO-EFFECTS
Filed · Intellectual property
A geared mechanism that transfers rotary motion into force on piezoelectric elements.
Arms drive an input gear through an output gear assembly into circular disks. Weight blocks inside disk cavities hit piezo crystals at both cavity ends, generating the contact force needed for usable electrical output.
The application is acknowledged in the EnerGATE paper. Its engineering focus is the mechanical path that delivers force to the piezoelectric elements; the companion study evaluates a hybrid turnstile through a digital twin.
The diagram follows rotation, conversion, and electrical use. It is an explanation of the concept rather than a manufacturing drawing, and the companion paper’s modelled output should not be treated as a measured output for every implementation of the application.
Follow a crossing through the system.
A crossing turns the arm. Gears transfer this rotation to the energy-harvesting mechanism.
Original concept diagram. Motion and electrical output are illustrative, not calculated from a physical simulation.
